Bargain hunters will be able to pick up a range of items at this weekend's Rotorua Library and Friends of the Rotorua Library Super Sale.
Items will include shelving, furniture, equipment, second-hand books and bric-a-brac.
The super-sized garage sale on Saturdaywill be held from 9am to 1pm at 1238 Pukuatua St, the space the library occupied while Te Aka Mauri was being refurbished.
Friends of the Rotorua Library will help run the Super Sale, and will receive all proceeds which will be used to provide library resources.
Friends of the Library president Onno Van Raalte said volunteers enjoyed being a part of sale days and seeing the proceeds generated going back to the library.
Friends of the Rotorua Library raise funds to provide additional resources for the library, such as the new custom built magazine shelving on the ground floor and comfortable seating and coffee tables in the dedicated Reading Room on the second floor.
The group, who have been promoting and supporting the Rotorua Library since 1991, are always happy to hear from potential new members.
A major income stream for the group is the sale of withdrawn library books and books donated to them by the community, which are then sold at the Kuirau Park Market on the first and third Saturdays of every month.
"We consider the Friends of the Library to be the SPCA of books. We find a home for every book and a book for every home," said Van Raalte.
Saturday's sale provides an additional opportunity for book lovers with hundreds of books stockpiled for the Super Sale.
Any furniture items not sold will be donated to charity.
