The lights at the Westend intersection in Rotorua are fixed - but are they?
That's the question on the lips of locals as the New Zealand Transport Agency confirms it has now replaced all the old lights on the corner of Malfroy and Old Taupo Rds.
The Transport Agency says the "detector loops", which trigger the lights to change still need to be replaced and this will happen early in the new year when the area is resealed.
But three locals, who didn't want to be named, have told the Rotorua Daily Post the lights have been partially out again at different times during the past week.
One woman said on one occasion the lights were changing red to orange but weren't going green.
