It was a busy weekend for the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter - with two motocross riders and a horse rider among the injured.
On Saturday the Taupo-based chopper was called to help a 52-year-old woman who had fallen off her horse near Taupo. She was flown to Rotorua Hospital with back injuries.
Later that day it was called to Kuratau for a motocross rider with a broken ankle. About the same time a couple were driving on the Western Bay Rd when the female passenger suffered a stroke. They were directed to Kuratau where both patients were picked up together and flown to Rotorua Hospital.
On Sunday a 24-year-old woman was flown to Middlemore Hospital with spinal injuries after a motocross accident.
