UPDATE:
The 69-year-old mountainbiker who grew hypothermic while in the Whirinaki Te Pua-a-Tane Conservation Park has been rescued.
The man was walked out by a search and rescue team this evening.
A police media spokesman said the man was doing okay and there were no issues during the rescue.
EARLIER:
A search and rescue team has been deployed to Minginui to help a man in his 60s after he began feeling hypothermic while moutainbiking.
The man is on a track between Moerangi hut and River Rd in the Whirinaki Te Pua-a-Tane Conservation Park.
A police media spokesman said police were alerted at 1.50pm and had a good idea where the man was.
He said the intention was to walk him out but a rescue helicopter was on standby if needed.
Police are being helped by the man's friend as to his whereabouts.
