Incident at Ngongotaha's Kalah Bar

Police are investigating an alleged robbery that happened around 11.50am at Kalah Bar in Ngongotaha.

Rotorua Senior Sergeant Mike Membery said police were in the early stages of the investigation and were following up on CCTV footage obtained at the scene.

He said no arrests had been made.

Police are currently attending an incident at Kalah Bar in Ngongotaha.

Rotorua police Senior Sergeant Steven Shaw said police were called to the scene at 11.50am today and were still there.

He said no weapons or firearms had been seen or used by anybody.

"No violence has been used in the incident... there is no risk to the community."

Mr Shaw said he was uncertain whether the bar was open when the incident happened.
