Man lacerates throat in grinder accident

The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to a farm near Arapuni, at about 3pm, to help a 60-year-old man who had injured himself while using a grinder.

The accident resulted in a lacerated throat and the man received treatment at the scene.

The road ambulance staff requested the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter due to the nature of the injury and his location.

He was flown to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
