New World Whakatane keeps selling winning Lotto tickets with the latest one worth $500,000.
The First Division prize won on Saturday comes a month after the supermarket sold a $1 million ticket and $15,000 in Lotto's "Make Summer Last Forever" promotion.
New World Whakatane owner Dave Trubshoe said there was usually a lot of buzz in the store in the days following a major win.
"Cherie and Robyn have run the Lotto for years, they're legends around town. I always give Cherie a hassle because she never sells me the winning ticket," Mr Trubshoe said.
"They're the face of Lotto in Whakatane and have made a lot of people of people very, very happy. They know all our customers and I know they get a special kick out of it when someone wins."
Mr Trubshoe said the great summer weather recently meant an influx of visitor numbers in town and as a result the supermarket and Lotto counter had been busier.
"We were also named the best New World Supermarket in the North Island in December." NZ Lotto advised anyone who bought their ticket from Whakatane New World to write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet, online at mylotto.co.nz or through the Lotto NZ ticket-checker app.
