He is asking for people to submit photos of the landmarks from which a panel will choose the best to go on the wall.
The images will be projected on to the wall as a template for Mr Chrisohoou to paint on the surface.
Mr Chrisohoou won the successful tender from KFC to design and create the public art piece by emphasising the community spirit of the city.
The former youth worker said his aim was to involve as many people as possible for the six-week project.
"I want it to be for the community, by the community.
"It is about mana and feeling proud to live in Rotorua.
"It is a powerful message of the community working and creating the project together."
Mr Chrisohoou said he could complete the artwork on his own but preferred community input to encourage pride in the city.
"It will be a monumental piece of art of the city," he said.
He will employ a photographer to take images of the landmarks, and a videographer to document the one-and-half-month project. The project will begin on November 15.
An open day to waterblast and prepare the surface, and explain the project's purpose, will be held on November 8.
Mr Chrisohoou has painted a number of murals in Rotorua, including an image of the Pink and White Terraces on the corner of Tutanekai St and Pukuatua St.
