Daniel Perese and Dana Kuchler have had their first taste of Rotorua Museum's school holiday programme - and they both can't wait to return.
When The Daily Post caught up with Daniel, 10, and Dana, 9, they were making monster pencil holders out of recycled cans. They had also made Halloween masks and decorations to hang in their bedrooms.
Daniel, who attends St Mary's School, said it was the best holiday programme.
"It's cool because you get to make things and you get to make some new friends ... I'd just be at home watching TV but this is so much more fun."
Dana, who attends Otonga School, is also enjoying the programme.
"They look after us well."
Programme organiser William Yip said they offered a variety of experiences. The children can attend daily or for the week with different activities each day.
They had had a crazy science day, pin-hole camera day and a trip to the Rotorua District Council nursery.
Next week, children will take part in Get Zombified in preparation for the Zombie Walk and will do cake decorating.
"We want to have a unique product that people can send their kids to. They are learning art skills and creative skills. They won't get to make pin-hole camera anywhere else and develop the photos in the dark room."
Next week's programme will be really scary as they prepare for the Zombie walk.
"We will have special effects and make-up artists and actors helping them. That day is really going to be a zombie day," Mr Yip said.
The programme costs $30 each day and is held in the classroom at the Rotorua Museum.
