Developing Maori land for maximum usage and financial gain will be the aim of a unique conference in Rotorua this month.
The "Business is Business - Steps to Market" conference on Thursday and Friday is hosted by the Te Arawa Federation of Maori Authorities and the Maori Research Institute Incorporated.
Speakers from all over the world will share their knowledge about regional and national approaches to creating competitive global and domestic products from valuable natural resources.
Maori Research Institute director and Te Arawa Federation of Maori Affairs chairman Tom Walters said it had taken the federation two years to create the event.
He said the conference would be an overview of asset development with topics such as the primary industries economic outlook from a banking perspective, land use options, Maori assets and the economy and the expansion of geothermal energy.
