Singing sensation Aaradhna is coming direct from Hollywood to perform a one-off show in Rotorua this weekend.
The R&B and pop artist will perform at Rotorua's Lava Bar tomorrow night, giving locals an opportunity to hear her unique voice.
Aaradhna soared to success following her musical debut in 2004, featuring on the single Getting Stronger with the group Adeaze, which peaked at No1 on the official New Zealand Singles Charts.
Her debut album I Love You made the top 20 in the music charts and several of her songs featured on some of New Zealand's most loved movies, including Sione's Wedding and It's a Free World.
In 2006, she released a club-inspired song alongside Australian producer Paul Mac, called Love Declaration.
Her album Sweet Soul Music is a throwback to soul classics, including The Jackson 5's I Want You Back, released on iTunes in 2008.
Since then, the Porirua-born singer has released another album and has been living in Los Angeles.
Lava Bar manager Paul Marston said the concert was a fantastic opportunity for locals to see such a top singer perform live.
"Aaradhna's a big name. She's made it big in New Zealand and is coming direct from the States. To see someone of her stature perform live anywhere in the country is lucky, so it's pretty special to have her perform in Rotorua," he said.
Mr Marston said what made Aaradhna special was her voice.
"She has a really unique sound, it's sort of soulful but still hard to define. I think her unique voice is one of the reasons she's so popular."
He said he expected about 300 people to turn up for the event but hoped there would be more.
Aaradhna takes to the stage for an hour and a half. Tickets are on sale from Eventfinda or X Base Backpackers, next door to the Lava Bar, for $30. Door sales are available for $35.
Mr Marston said the bar's balcony would be open, with DJ entertainment for those just wanting to enjoy the bar and new gourmet burger menu.
