The Solicitor-General will appeal against a court decision granting anonymity to a Christchurch businessman who tried to hire a 12-year-old girl for sex.
The 37-year-old man, who lives near a primary school, was fined $2500 late last month. A Christchurch District Court judge suppressed his name on grounds including the risk that his employees could lose their livelihoods.
