National MPs Richard Worth and Simon Power have swapped portfolios, party leader Bill English announced today.
Mr Worth, MP for Epsom, would take over as justice spokesman from Mr Power, MP for Rangitikei, who would take over defence from Mr Worth.
"The switch reflects the MPs' respective skills, with key defence sites such as the expanding Ohakea air base and Waiouru being located within Simon Power's electorate and Linton Army Camp nearby," Mr English said in a statement.
"Richard Worth is a former chairman of law firm Simpson Grierson. He is also a member of the Council of Legal Education and has wide experience and knowledge in the justice area."
The switch was effective immediately.
