The case of convicted murderer former Dunedin psychiatrist Colin Bouwer is back in court today, when the Court of Appeal hears two appeals relating to the case. Bouwer, 51, is asking the court to overturn his conviction for the murder of his 47-year-old wife and the Crown will be arguing for a longer non-parole period. Bouwer is now seven months into a sentence of life imprisonment, and must serve 13 years before he can apply for parole.
The Crown also wants the court to extend the 15-year non-parole term imposed on convicted murderer Dartelle Alder, who killed jogger Margaret Lynne Baxter.
