Mercury Energy has increased some of its service charges and commercial electricity prices for customers in the Vector network area.
Some of the service charges, which cover reconnections and disconnections, special readings and callouts, are almost double the old prices for residential customers, while other charges have never existed before.
The cost of getting a residential meter tested will rise from $55 to $101.25, if no fault is found.
A new connection used to be free but will now cost $33.75.
The charge to disconnect and then reconnect a power supply at the request of a customer, or for safety reasons, used to be $55. From December 1 it will cost $78.76.
Mercury Energy general manager John Foote said the charges remained competitive with other suppliers.
The new schedule coincides with higher electricity prices for some of Mercury's commercial customers connected to the Vector network.
The new commercial line charges will be billed by Mercury on behalf of Vector, and will also apply from December 1.
Mr Foote said the impact on customers would depend on their connection plans and usage. Commercial customers affected by the price changes would be notified.
