Two crashes involving six cars have injured three people and created chaos on Auckland roads this morning.
Two people were taken to Middlemore Hospital with minor and moderate injuries after a four-car crash on the Southern Motorway in Totara Heights, Manurewa, about 5.50am.
A Fire and Emergency spokeswoman said the crash blocked northbound lanes, but had now been cleared.
The NZ Transport Authority warned commuters to expect "significant delays".
And one person had to be freed from a car and taken to hospital after two cars collided in Te Atatu.
Emergency services were called to the crash on Taikata Rd at 6.16am.
The victim was taken to North Shore Hospital with minor injuries.
