Ms Morgan, Lotto controller at Countdown Tikipunga, said she found out the winning ticket had been sold at the store when she arrived at work yesterdayto see a message on the Lotto terminal.
"We've sold several scratchies but this is our first big Lotto win so it's quite exciting.
"I was over the moon. Hopefully we're going to see the people who won it," she said.
Ms Morgan hoped the ticket was sold to someone local.
"I really hope it's gone to somebody who will use it wisely. That's all you can hope for. If it goes to local people, that's even better," she said.
