Two men have been rescued after their yacht started sinking near Coromandel.
Coastguard got a call from the men at 6.30 last night, saying the hull of the 8.5 metre vessel was cracked.
Duty officer Tony Winyard says they'd been travelling between Tauranga and Auckland.
He says Lion Rescue sped over to Port Jackson, at the top of the peninsula, where he thinks the yacht had hit some rocks.
He suspects they came to Colville Channel a bit close to Coromandel Peninsula.
Tony Winyard says the boat arrived at Westhaven Marina at 4am.
He says the two men are cold and tired and possibly suffering from shock but otherwise okay.
