Taupo police are appealing for anyone who saw suspicious activity around the time a Kinloch man was killed to come forward.
Police are continuing to investigate the homicide of Scott John Henry, 48, at his property on Whangamata Rd, Kinloch, near Taupo, last Thursday.
They have finished examining the scene and searching the property and say they are following lines of enquiry.
Police would like anyone who saw suspicious activity in the Whangamata Rd area during the evening of Thursday July 20 to come forward.
"We are interested in hearing from anyone who was travelling in the area, who may have seen vehicles or people behaving in a suspicious manner," said Detective Senior Sergeant John Wilson.
Police said a post-mortem examination established Henry died of a gunshot wound.
Henry's 38-year-old partner was unaccounted for after the death but had since been found safe at a nearby property.
