The social media giant is researching technology that allows users to control a keyboard and mouse with their brain.
Facebook calls it "silent speech" software, as it will track the brain activity which creates speech, and translate it into written text.
On his Facebook page, Mark Zuckerberg said the project would allow us to communicate at 100 words per minute - five times faster than typing on a phone.
"Eventually, we want to turn it into a wearable technology that can be manufactured at scale," Zuckerberg wrote.
