An Auckland man wanted on six arrest warrants is likely staying at motels as he tries to avoid being captured by police.

Herbert Marsden is facing charges of driving while disqualified, reckless driving, aggravated failing to stop and breaching release conditions.

While on bail for these charges, police allege he also breached his court-imposed release conditions.

Marsden has contacts throughout Auckland - particularly in the Waitakere, Panmure and Takanini areas.

"Police believe it is likely that he will be staying in motels or other temporary accommodation," a spokeswoman said.

"Marsden is considered dangerous and police advise he should not be approached."
