Family fly from China to be with Takapuna near drowning victim

The family of a near drowning victim on Auckland's North Shore are travelling from China to be with the woman.

The woman, who was rushed to North Shore Hospital in a critical condition and remains there, was found unresponsive in a swimming pool on Tuesday afternoon.

A police spokeswoman said the woman's family are travelling from China to be with her.

Emergency services were called to the Lake Rd home in the Hauraki area at 1.30pm.

Neighbours told the Herald on Tuesday the pool was located in the backyard of the gated property.

It is understood the woman was visiting the home at the time of the incident.
