A Givealittle page has been launched for a Gate Pa family whose home was ransacked and all their Christmas presents were stolen, as well as personal items, and electronics.
Family friend and Haeata Charitable Trust founder Teisha Reihana said the Filo family of 10, which includes eight children aged six to 18 had been left badly shaken.
Ms Reihana said the break-in was believed to have happened at the Cook St home sometime on Saturday while most of the family were up in Auckland visiting relatives.
The burglary was discovered by one of the older daughters when she arrived home from work and found the ranch slider at the side of the house smashed, she said.
"When she walked in the front door she immediately noticed all the presents under the Christmas tree were gone, and the whole house was an absolute mess."
