Five people have been arrested on charges including supplying methamphetamine and possession of cannabis.

The arrests are a result of executed drug search warrants in the Queenstown, Alexandra and Wanaka areas in the last few days.

Two men and three women between the ages of 21 and 46 have appeared or are set to appear in the Queenstown and Alexandra District Court.

Detective senior sergeant Malcolm Inglis said this is a great result for the region.

"These arrests will go a long way in preventing drugs from causing more harm to our communities."

The matter is now before the courts.
