A man charged with stabbing Ronald Clayton Karipa in Glendene two weeks ago has appeared in court.
Michael Ford, 23, appeared on a count of murder at the Auckland High Court this morning after being arrested two days after the stabbing on October 17.
Ford was remanded on bail until his next appearance in February.
Another man, Ruarangi Waitai McIntyre, 28, has been charged with being an accessory to murder after the fact in relation to the stabbing.
The Crown applied to have the defendants' cases heard together.
Karipa, 42, died after he was stabbed on Hepburn Rd in Glendene.
When Ford first appeared in the Waitakere District Court, the courtroom erupted with one group shouting threats and profanities at Ford.
As he was lead out of the dock, Ford shouted at his supporters while the other group yelled more profanities at the man.
Ford's trial has been set down for two weeks and is due to be heard September next year.
