A man wanted on a parole recall warrant is a "person of interest" after a spate of burglaries in Waikato.

Hamilton police have appealed for the public to help them find Lionel Torrie.

The 33-year-old is described as being 176cm tall with a tattoo saying "Lily" on the left side of his neck and a visible tattoo on the inside of his left forearm.

He is believed to be in the Hamilton area, however he has links to the Bay of Plenty and King Country.

If you have any information about Torrie's whereabouts, please contact Detective Sergeant William Loughrin on 021 190 2963 or call 111.

Torrie should be considered dangerous, police said, and should not be approached.
