Man arrested over Stokes Valley assault

A Lower Hutt man has been arrested in connection with an assault which occurred last week in Stokes Valley.

Hutt Valley Police arrested the 36-year-old at an Avalon address tonight.

The man will appear in the Hutt Valley District Court tomorrow, charged with aggravated burglary and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Detective Senior Sergeant Glen Barnett said police were still seeking David Haddon in relation to the matter, and information on his whereabouts would be appreciated.

"The victim is still in Wellington Hospital, in the ICU ward with life-threatening injuries."
