Police are searching for the man who harassed a Napier woman on her way home from work tonight.

The man followed the woman around 5pm as she walked from her workplace on Thackeray Street to her car on Carlyle Street.

The woman was harassed by the man who was asking her to assist him in getting some prescription medicine.

After reaching her car the man has continued to harass the woman and has tried to get in the car before the woman has driven off.

The man is described as between 23 to 30 years, of slim build and 5'8- 5'11 tall with short hair. He was wearing tan footwear, grey/black faded jeans and a black top with a monogram on it.

He was described as being of Somalian or Sri Lankin decent.

Police are seeking any further information in relation to this incident and would like to hear from any other people who may have been approached by this male.
