Parliament gets on board Pokemon Go craze

New Zealand Parliament has tweeted an invitation to Pokemon Go players to capture Pokemon inside Parliament this weekend.

The offical NZ Parliament account tweeted: "Out playing #PokemonGO in Wellington this weekend? Plenty of Pidgey hanging around Parliament. Catch 'em all for us!"

The tweet includes pictures of two Pidget inside Parliament.


Kiwis have gone crazy for the augmented reality app since it was launched on July 6, with thousands exploring the real world capturing Pokemon and claiming "gyms" based on real world landmarks.

Some players have been going to great lengths for the game, such as 24-year-old Wellington women Lizzy Eden and Kelsey Thomson who hired a kayak and paddled into Wellington Harbour to capture a gym.
