Man charged in South Island stabbing

A man has been charged by police over a South Island stabbing.

Police were called to an address in Cromwell overnight, responding to reports of a man being stabbed. A man was found to have been stabbed in the arm a number of times and was taken to Dunedin Hospital by helicopter.

A man has now been arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He will appear in court on Monday.
