Volunteer firefighters in West Auckland didn't have far to go when they were called to an accident early this morning - a car had crashed into their station.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident at Waiatarua Fire Station on Scenic Drive in the Waitakere ranges at 2.24am.

No one was injured when the car crashed into the station, but a roller door and the corner of the building were damaged.

Police and the ambulance service also attended the incident, and the Fire Service cleaned up a fuel leak from the car.
