Police search for alleged fraudster targeting elderly

A man who allegedly defrauded several elderly women is being sought by police.

Police this morning said William Harding was wanted in relation to allegations of obtaining money by deception. The allegations relate to several elderly victims.

Whanganui police described Harding as a man in his mid-70s, of above-average height and medium build. He is driving a red Holden Commodore, registration DAH426, and could be anywhere in the North Island.

Police have urged anyone with information on Harding's whereabouts to contact Sergeant Nick Brunger of Whanganui Police, in confidence, on 06 349 0600, or anonymously through the Crimestoppers organisation on 0800 555 111.
