A Kiwi deported from Australia and on the run in New Zealand has been arrested by police.
Patrick Sylva, 26, moved to Australia and lived with his father when he was aged about 4.
His family earlier told the Herald he had been living rough in Australia and after committing crimes he spent two weeks in a detention centre before being deported in July.
However, after settling in he had gone missing and a warrant issued for his arrest.
A police spokesman today confirmed that Sylva was arrested on December 3 for breach of bail conditions and appeared in court the following day.
