To the polite young man from St Peter's College who offered his seat to an older man on the Western train this morning - thank you. The man may not have thanked you but I noticed. I also noticed you saying "please" and "excuse me" as you moved along the train. You are a credit to your parents, school and community.

I took my young children to Pt Chevalier beach after school for a play, the tots running in different directions and the others heading off to collect shells, when I realised there was a pack of nine dogs racing around them on the beach, as well as others running free. I couldn't supervise my young children safely in this situation so had to leave. I hope the council reviews and changes the law promptly. Children should be able to safely run free on this heavily used urban beach.

Bought a Weber BBQ 12/18 months ago which has surpassed all expectations and constant use.Through a minor disruption the skirt needed replacing. Imagine my delight to receive a phone call advising Weber had not only dispatched one but there was no charge, not even for the courier! Not only a great product but the best after-sales service we have come across. Fantastic.

Arrogant, self-righteous drivers who hog the right-hand lanes and refuse to let anyone pass. Also, motorists who drive at 70-80km/h until they reach a passing lane then speed up to 130km/h.

How great to see, at the same time, a man, two women and two young children, who looked about four and six years old, all eating fresh fruit salad with yoghurt, with the adults also having omelettes with tea and the children scrambled egg on toast with water.

Boo to the people who removed two out of 10 seeds from Yates Commemorative Seed Tin and eight from another at the Countdown store in Meadowbank.
