A Christchurch truck driver has today denied killing a tourist cyclist.
David Peter Connell, 50, was due to appear at Christchurch District Court this morning to enter a plea to a charge of careless driving causing death.
However, Connell, of Spreydon, pleaded not guilty and was granted a registrar's remand to appear at a case review hearing on May 19.
Taiwanese visitor Ming Chih Hsieh, 33, died in a collision with a truck and trailer unit allegedly driven by Mr Connell at the intersection of Carmen and Waterloo roads in the Christchurch suburb of Hornby on September 29 last year.
