A man allegedly involved in a police pursuit in Blenheim with a child, drugs and a loaded firearm in the vehicle, has made his first appearance in court.
Paul Bronson Walker, 41, appeared in Blenheim District Court yesterday.
Walker is facing several charges, including failing to stop for red and blue lights, assaulting a person with a blunt instrument, possessing methamphetamine, possessing instruments for the consumption of methamphetamine, and driving in a dangerous manner.
Walker's charges are related to an incident on Monday, after police alleged they saw a vehicle travelling the wrong way down Market St in Blenheim.
Police allege the driver then failed to stop for police, before stopping at a roundabout and then ramming a police car in his way.
