Police have confirmed the body of a man found on Mount Maunganui last night is that of missing man Stephen Michael Tracey.
Mr Tracey, 37, was last seen by his father in Mount Maunganui about 5pm on Saturday, September 27.

Police issued an appeal to find Mr Tracey, who they said was 'not forgotten' about despite the tragedy of Jack Dixon unfolding three days later.
Mr Tracey was discovered in an area of dense bush close to a walking track; a member of the public using the track contacted police.
There are no suspicious circumstances and the matter has been referred to the Coroner.
A Bay of Plenty police spokeswoman said Mr Tracey's family had been notified ''and our sincere condolences are with his family at this difficult time''.
