A Nelson man is being sought by police investigating an Auckland drugs ring.

Terry Jones, 44, from Richmond in Nelson, is believed to have information which would help police Operation Genoa.

More than $3 million in assets, including a Ferrari, Porsche and Maserati, were seized during police searches across the country earlier this month as part of the operation - a lengthy investigation into the manufacture and supply of methamphetamine in the Auckland region.

Mr Jones is described as a New Zealand European, 175cm tall and with a distinctive birthmark on his left cheek.

He is believed to be somewhere in the Nelson region, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 021 191 6094, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
