Police have growing concerns for a 34-year-old Greytown man who failed to return from a trip to Castlepoint, east of Masterton.

Police believed Miroslav Tvaroh arrived at the beach resort yesterday afternoon and parked a blue Mazda Premacy station wagon in an area near the Church on Jetty Rd.

He was described as of slim athletic build, with a slight beard, 180cm tall, and thought to be wearing a brown polar fleece and grey corduroy trousers, police said.

Police and volunteers were conducting a land and sea search in the area to try and locate Mr Tvaroh.
