Magnitude 3.5 quake rattles Christchurch

A magnitude 3.5 earthquake has hit Canterbury.

It struck just before 4.30pm this afternoon, rattling the nerves of many.

The quake was centred five kilometres south of Christchurch, at a depth of six kilometres.
