A record fine has been dished out for what's described as unbelievable and deliberate pollution of a stream that flows into the Waikato River.
Fenwick Farms has been fined $114,000.
Waikato Regional Council investigations manager, Patrick Lynch, says a pump on the Waiuku farm had been set up to deliberately discharge effluent into the stream .
He says the fine is the largest ever imposed in the Waikato for discharging dairy effluent into a stream.
