Over the school holidays, DoC offered up a $10 bounty for every great white bought into its Nelson office.
Over the two weeks hunters bought in more than 130 butterflies into DoC.

He says one family managed to pocket $80 after brining in eight butterflies.
Mr Vander Lee says with nearly 3500 small white butterflies being handed in, it was easy to see some people found working out which was which quite difficult.
