Police are investigating the sudden death of a 4-year-old girl in west Auckland.
A statement from Waitakere police confirmed the child died on Thursday evening.
Ambulance officers alerted police to the death at a Ranui home that night.
"At this stage the child's death is unexplained and a post-mortem has been conducted," police said.
"Police are treating the death as unexplained and investigations are ongoing."
