A widow has made an emotional plea to burglars to return her wedding rings, stolen from her Wellington home on Friday, because they were her last link to her dead husband.
"Please dig deep into your hearts and see if you can get these back to me, they don't mean anything to you but they mean the world to me," Rebecca Todd said.
Ms Todd's 12-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter arrived home from school to find their front door ajar, the place turned upside down and precious momentos gone.
"They took my engagement ring, which was my mother's, my wedding band, my eternity ring that my husband gave me six months before he died ... and his wedding band," she said.
The rings were one day going to be passed to her children, Ms Todd said.
