Several youths were arrested after a drunken brawl erupted in central Auckland overnight.

Police said the fight broke out on the corner of Queen Street and Custom Street just after 1am.

Police and ambulance received multiple calls about a group of 10 to 20 drunken youths fighting in the street.

A number of people were reported to have been injured during the fracas and were treated by St John Ambulance, police said.

The group dispersed when the police tactical response unit arrived at the scene.

Three people remain in Auckland Hospital with minor injuries.
