Bloodied woman found in K-Rd club

Firefighters attending what they thought would be a fire at an Auckland nightclub this afternoon arrived to find a woman who had spent the night locked inside.

Police said the woman must have fallen asleep in the Desi Lounge on Karangahape Rd and woke to find herself locked in.

Inspector Danny Meade said the woman had tried banging on the doors and walls of the club to attract attention but, when that proved unsuccessful, she set off the fire alarm shortly after midday.

She had cut her foot on broken glass on the floor and there was some blood on her when firefighters arrived.

The woman was fine, if a bit hungover, Mr Meade said.
