More debate for MPs this week on the legalisation of gay marriage and Monday-ising of public holidays.
The committee stage debates are expected for Louisa Wall's Marriage Equality Bill and David Clark's bill to make Monday a public holiday when Waitangi and ANZAC days fall on a weekend.
The committee stage gives MPs a chance to propose amendments to bills.
Among the amendments to Louisa Wall's bill, is a Winston Peters' proposal that the issue be taken to a referendum - that suggestion will almost definitely be rejected.
The third and final reading of both bills are expected next month.
Both are expected to pass, and if so, they will be the first opposition bills to succeed since National took office in 2008.
