A serial pigeon killer in Wellington is no closer to being caught this week.

Poisoned birds began dying in the city's streets in January, upsetting pedestrians and animal rights groups.

Wellington SPCA's Ritchie Dawson said despite trawling through CCTV footage, Wellington City Council and the SPCA were no closer to catching the culprit.

He says any members of the public who see pigeons being fed with a suspicious substance should contact the SPCA immediately.

Ritchie Dawson said more than 20 pigeons died after an incident last week.
