A 48-year-old man's death at a Manawatu home on Saturday is being treated by police as unexplained.
The man was staying at a Bainesse Road property in Manawatu and was found dead by the homeowner about 8.30am, Detective Senior Sergeant Marc Hercock said.
A scene examination had been completed and police were making inquiries to establish the man's last movements.
A post-mortem examination was hoped to be completed by tomorrow evening, Mr Hercock said.
At this stage his death was being treated as "unexplained".
