Police are appealing for information following a daylight robbery in Napier over the weekend.

Two men were threatened by a man claiming he had a gun in his pocket in the suburb of Onekawa around 5:30pm on Saturday.

They were forced to hand over cellphones, as well as a hat.

The man is described as Maori, in his late 20s, of stocky build and was wearing a red polka dot scarf around his neck.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the man in the Morris Spence Avenue area on Saturday afternoon.
